iTS's sad

I didn't want this to be another lame ass obituary for someone I didn't know just like everybody that came out of the woodwork when Amy Winehouse or Michael Jackson died. In fact, apart from the iPhone I'm blogging from the only other way Steve Jobs affected my life was by the thousands of MAC users that didn't call me for tech support cos their shit just worked. Why do we stop everything when someone famous dies? People die all the time and guess what so will I. It's part of life and it's really only sad for the people we leave behind. My Grandmother died of breast cancer & it's a bitch of a disease and it was so cruel to watch her wincing in pain even with all the morphine she had. I am grateful however, to have spent some of those last moments with her. It was just me and her as each family member got to take their turn to be with her. I was sad as I saw her asleep knowing she might not wake up but I had this inner peace knowing life goes on and at that moment nothing else going on in my life mattered. Steve Jobs had a loving family, true friends that shared his passion not just his money and leaves this world with no regrets. We're not all going to achieve what he did & at the end of the day it doesn't matter. Ticking boxes of achievement may be important to some people but once you've ticked all the boxes what are you left with? Just what you started out with. You can't take it with you and does money really make you happy? It makes things easier and comfortable for sure. But the most humbling thing about life is that nobody gets outta here alive. Even the rich and powerful.

Don't fuck with my freedom of speech

Something light to start off my first ever blog but also a subject that has been shitting for ages. Why can't I say the word nigger in society yet black people throw around the same word or cracker and it's ok. I get that by using it all the time it takes the power out of the word & then it's just another adjective & not a throw back to it's origins of afro-American slavery. Don't get me wrong I'm not an ignorant asshole & don't want to use the word I just hate that my freedom of speech has been limited by the Oprahs of the world who say white people be nice but niggers feel free to say what you like cos you're empowering a "minority". It seems illogical to me. Either it's offensive or it's not. Does that mean that by saying the dreaded C bomb all the time its effect and power will go from that too. I saw a drunk guy getting escorted from the train station on Saturday & the amount of times he dropped the word it actually made me and the security guy laugh. It had no effect. Well it didn't have the effect he intended which was to get the security guy to fight him. He just looked like an idiot & he can go on swearing at the street and get the same reaction.
